Srinagar, Oct 11 (KNO): As the excitement of the Legends Cricket League unfolds in the valley, Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of the Sports Council, hailed the hosting of international cricket matches in Kashmir as a long-awaited dream fulfilled and a proud moment for the region. Speaking to the media persons here, Gul, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), described the arrival of international cricket in Kashmir as an extraordinary achievement. “For years, our youth have only watched cricket on television. Now, they have the chance to experience live matches at the stadium, which is truly special,” she said. The Secretary Sports Council said there is a palpable excitement among young fans, who gathered in large numbers to witness the matches. “For many of them, it's a dream come true to see international players up close. I spoke to several children, and their joy and enthusiasm were contagious,” she said, adding. “Spectators not only cheered for their favourite players but also viewed the event as a symbol of peace and progress in Jammu & Kashmir.” The international cricket matches signify a historic return of cricket to the region's sporting landscape, providing a platform for youth engagement and people’s celebration—(KNO)
